Read-Only Google Drive and Canva AI Skills: Bring Your Creative Sources Into Lisa AI
Your best creative work should not be trapped in another tab
Marketing teams already keep approved images in Google Drive and finished designs in Canva. The problem is rarely creating one more asset. It is moving the right assets into the system that actually publishes them, keeping the library current, and doing it without another weekly download-and-upload routine.
Lisa AI now solves that handoff with two separate creative-source AI Skills: Connect Google Drive and Connect Canva. Add one Skill to an AI Employee, choose one source folder, choose a destination in Lisa Creatives, and let the employee import recent work on its schedule.
The result is a direct path from the tools your team already uses to the Lisa AI social-posting workflow.
Two Skills, one clear job
Google Drive and Canva remain separate Skills because they serve different creative workflows.
This keeps each employee easy to understand: one source, one schedule and one destination.
Read-only by design
Connecting a creative source should not mean surrendering control of it. Lisa uses read-only access for these Skills.
Lisa may read an eligible file and copy it into its own creative storage. It cannot write, rename, move, upload or delete anything in your Google Drive or Canva account. The original remains exactly where your team put it.
That boundary matters for agencies, franchise groups and multi-location operators. Your existing approval process stays intact, while Lisa handles the repetitive delivery step.
One folder, checked on a schedule
Each run checks only the direct contents of the folder you selected. It does not crawl through subfolders or wander across the rest of the connected account.
The employee looks for files changed during the preceding schedule window, orders them newest first and imports up to the limit you configured. You can choose between one and ten imports per run, with three as the default.
Retries and overlapping runs are deduplicated. Renaming or moving a source file does not create another creative, and identical content is not imported twice. This gives scheduled automation the reliability expected from an AI Employee built for local-business operations.
Copied as-is, with no AI editing
These source Skills are intentionally different from Lisa's AI creative pipeline.
The AI creative pipeline starts from a real business photo and can crop, enhance and classify it according to brand rules. Drive and Canva imports do none of that. They preserve the finished asset your team already approved.
That means:
If your designer finishes a campaign tile in Canva, the imported creative is that tile. If your agency drops an approved product image into Drive, Lisa copies that image as-is.
Ready for social posting immediately
Successful imports become eligible for existing social-posting employees as soon as they enter Lisa Creatives. Teams can still use Lisa Creatives folders to organise campaigns and control which assets a posting employee may select.
This complements the existing work Lisa does to keep social images feed-ready. Use AI-generated or AI-edited creatives when you want Lisa to transform a real business photo. Use Drive or Canva when a finished asset should move directly into distribution.
Transparent pay-per-action tokens
There is no charge for finding nothing new, rejecting an unsupported file or failing an import. A successful import uses the existing creative-image and creative-storage token actions because Lisa has copied and retained an asset in your workspace.
Charges remain tied to the admin who enabled the employee—not to folder viewers or people with view-only access. The same transparent approach is part of Lisa AI's broader pay-per-action model for multi-location marketing.
A shorter path from approved to published
Creative automation should remove handoffs without weakening control. With read-only source access, exact folder boundaries, copied-as-is imports and immediate social eligibility, Drive and Canva can remain where your team creates and approves work while Lisa Creatives becomes the bridge to publishing.
Build your first Lisa AI Employee and connect the creative source your team already uses.
